A sabotage group from the 36th Brigade of the Ukrainian army lost four people killed and six wounded during a provocation raid along the southern direction, the head of the press service of the Donetsk People’s Republic People’s Militia Daniil Bezsonov said on July 2 in a statement published on the official website of the DPR Operations Command.
According to the statement, the Ukrainian army made a sabotage combat reconnaissance raid after their week-long attempts failed to provoke the DPR defenders to open return fire using weapons prohibited by the Minsk agreements.
In spite of the ceasefire obligations set forth by the “spring truce”, which has been in force from March 8, 2019, observers report multiple acts of shelling against DPR territory committed by Ukrainian armed groups. Not only civilians, but also journalists reporting the consequences of shelling regularly become targets of artillery and mortar shelling.
