The manifestation of genuine civil and human dignity in Donbass and the so-called “revolution of dignity” in Ukraine are two polarly opposite Ukraines, political scientist, the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan said on June 26 on the air of the Evening with Vladimir Solovyov TV program on the Russia One channel.
Kurginyan spoke about the Ukrainian delegation’s escapades in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, noting that these kinds of “posturing, mops and jumps, and hysteric screams” suggest that the contemporary Ukrainian elite is neurotic. In contrast, the former leader of the Donetsk People’s Republic Aleksandr Zakharchenko had no neuroses, “He was the way he was, and when a person is what he is, he is always beautiful.”
“I met him exactly the day when all those shameful retreats began (the surrender of Slavyansk by Igor Strelkov in early July 2014 ― Rossa Primavera News Agency). As soon as they began, a position on them was expressed, and this was to protect honor and dignity,” the Essence of Time leader said.
In this sense, Sergey Kurginyan believes, the so-called “revolution of dignity” of 2014 in Ukraine is something completely opposite to the manifestation of genuine civil and human dignity in Donbass. The Maidan events are a perverted form, in which the words and the content are polar. This is a form that destroys its own content.
“The cookies, from the moment they appeared and up to the end, were a continuous revolution of humiliation, neuroses, and imitation [referring to the cookies that then US Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland distributed among protesters as part of a photo-op ― translator’s note]. As soon as someone disregards his past, his ‘self-standing’ as Pushkin said, his identity, as soon as one part after another is pulled out from it for the sake of something else, then emptiness comes. And this emptiness becomes convulsed at the rostrums and elsewhere. It has nothing to say,” the Essence of Time leader explained.
According to the political scientist, the Maidan events of 2014 were Ukraine’s suicide. “And the sooner the Ukrainian citizens realize this, the sooner the painful recovery for Ukraine will begin,” Kurginyan believes.
The leader of the DPR Aleksandr Zakharchenko was killed by a terrorist attack on August 31, 2018. On June 26, 2019, the DPR Ministry of Internal Affairs published the names and photos of the officials of the Ukrainian Security Service involved in the Zakharchenko murder.
