The Ministry of Internal Affairs (Russian: MVD) of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) published a video on its official website revealing the names and photos of the Ukrainian Security Service (Russian: SBU) operatives involved in the assassination of the DPR leader Aleksandr Zakharchenko.
According to a Ministry official, the Donbass-born Assistant Deputy Director of the Fifth Directorate of Counter-Intelligence (Russian: DKR) of the SBU Sergey Motorin, who previously worked in Slavyansk, was directly involved in the Zakharchenko murder. In addition, this SBU operative was also involved in the assassination of Hero of the DPR Arsen Pavlov (call-sign Motorolla).
“There are also younger thugs: Vladislav Dolgozvyaga and Andrey Mashuta. Obviously, they did not commit the terrorist attacks themselves, but they used their agents, particularly Andrey Baydala, also known under the nickname ‘Swede,’ and his Ukrainian nationalist accomplices Andrey Otenko and Damir Poshtannikov,” the MVD official said.
He also noted that the MVD has photos and details of other “war criminals,” including their names, residence addresses, family status, and cars used. The MVD official also said they have similar information on operatives of the Special Reserve of the Chief Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine.
According to the MVD, terrorist attacks on the territory of the Donetsk People’s Republic are responsibility of the Fifth Directorate of the SBU DKR, “which was established with the active participation of the CIA.” The DPR MVD has published photos of the Director of the Fifth Directorate Roman Chervinsky, his deputies Maksim Popov and Aleksandr Poklad, the supervisor of the DKR Fifth Directorate Aleksey Petrov, who is former head of the SBU DKR and now Deputy Director of the SBU, as well as photos of operatives from the SBU DKR Fifth Directorate, which is directly responsible for DPR operations.
“We know all the operatives from this department who are involved in the crimes committed in Donbass,” the DPR MVD official said.
The first leader of the Donetsk People’s Republic, Aleksandr Zakharchenko, was killed on August 31, 2018, by a terrorist attack in the Separ café in the center of Donetsk. An explosive device was planted above the café entrance, and it was set off immediately after the DPR leader entered. The explosion also killed Zakharchenko’s bodyguard Vyacheslav Dotsenko, and 11 people were injured.
