Kurginyan: If Zelensky doesn’t start cleaning up after winning, he’ll get cleaned out himself

17.04.2019, Moscow.

Zelensky was nominated for the Ukrainian presidency in order to remove Pyotr Poroshenko. Therefore, if Zelensky fails to start cleaning up the “political scene,” he will not survive even half a year, the leader of Essence of Time movement, political scientist Sergey Kurginyan said on April 15 on the air of the Evening with Vladimir Solovyov TV program on the Russia One channel.

Kurginyan believes that for Russia, Poroshenko as the winner would be a simpler option, because everything is absolutely clear with him. However, Zelensky has rather good chances of winning.

“What is Zelensky essentially? He fronts radical groups willing to remove Poroshenko, after which Zelensky must fail. Then, a polarization into pro-Russian and other groups will follow,” Kurginyan said.

According to the political scientist, the current Ukrainian president, Poroshenko, will not accept Zelensky’s victory.

“Now the question is what should Zelensky do? If Zelensky does not initiate a big cleanup the current landscape within the first 3-4 months, a powerful cleaning, beginning with dissolving the Rada (Ukrainian Parliament), with further offensive measures to follow, then his life expectancy will be 6 months at most. At most!”

“This means that all the tigers are waiting for this relatively vegetarian guy to leave, and for a polarization to begin. We must be prepared for this,” Kurginyan believes.

On April 21, the presidential runoff vote will take place in Ukraine between the current president, Pyotr Poroshenko, and comic actor Vladimir Zelensky.

Western experts have already warned Zelensky that a potential Russian turn in his policy in the event that he wins the elections will be regarded as treason against the people, and that he will be punished for this.
