Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov spoke about intensive expansion of the relations between Moscow and Riyadh and the good level of coordination, which has been achieved in their regional affairs, as he opened negotiations with the Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir, TASS reported on August 29.
Lavrov thanked the Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister for accepting the invitation, and he stressed the importance of continued dialogue as well as the agreements made during King Salman’s visit in October 2017.
The Russian Foreign Minister emphasized the expansion of bilateral relation in all directions. The Minister also expressed confidence that this trend in cooperation will remain strong.
On February 14, 2018 the Russian Federation and Saudi Arabia signed an energy cooperation memorandum and a joint statement on energy and climate.
