China’s Foreign Ministry’s official representative Lu Kang voiced a recommendation at his briefing to stop pressuring Chinese companies and discard Cold War mentality, TASS Agency reported on June 3.
China’s Foreign Ministry’s official representative said that the US government must “do more to help with the mutual trust and cooperation” and stop relying on groundless guesses. Lu Kang made this statement in response to the US National Telecommunications and Information Administration’s recommendation to deny China Mobile the right to provide telecommunication services in the United States. He also said, “We urge the relevant US party to discard the outdated cold-war and zero-sum mentality to put the issue in perspective and stop groundless speculations and unreasonable suppression of Chinese companies.”
On Monday the US National Telecommunications and Information Administration recommended the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to decline China Mobile Chinese communications provider’s application to provide communication services in the United States for national security reasons. Earlier, the US lawmakers also for national security reasons opposed the plans of China Mobile to enter the US market.
