SAR: US-led coalition interferes with clearing Syria of terrorists

17.11.2017, Syria.

The coalition forces set up by the USA to fight ISIL (organization banned in Russia) in fact do not obstruct terrorists’ movements along the eastern bank of the Euphrates River, the headquarters of the armed groups fighting at the Syrian army’s side said, TASS reported on November 17.

“The coalition forces provide assistance for terrorists and do not obstruct their movements. In fact, all of the ISIL (organization banned in Russia) leaders including Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi fled from Abu Kamal to a zone controlled by the so-called Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) on the eastern bank of the Euphrates River, the headquarters’ statement said.

The Russian Ministry of Defense previously reported similar actions by the US-led coalition when the US refused to conduct air strikes against terrorists, because the latter were allegedly protected by the Geneva Convention. “As for Abu Kamal, this is not the only incident when the USA was merciful to terrorists,” the Russian Foreign minister Sergey Lavrov said after that.
