Tu-22 bombers strike terrorists’ facilities in Syria

A rocket strike launched from Tu-22 M3 bombers hit terrorists’ facilities in Syria, TASS reports on the 2nd of November citing the Russian Defense Ministry.

Six Tu-22 M3 aircraft attacked ISIL (organization banned in Russia) facilities in the Deir ez-Zor province in the vicinity of the town of Abu-Kemal. The strike destroyed weapon depots, military hardware hideouts, strongholds, and command centers of the terrorists. The bombers took off in the Russian territory and flew over the territories of Iran and Iraq.

Russia together with the Syrian government troops participates in military operations against militants since 2015. Sergey Shoigu, the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation informed that the terrorists control no more than 5% of the Syrian territory on the 24th of October.
