The Ukrainian military shelled the territory of the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) 12 times over the past day, LPR Defense Ministry stated during the regular briefing on summing up the situation changes results at the contact line between LPR and Ukraine, Lugansk Information Center reported on October 7.
The Ukrainian army fired at the LPR by 82-mm mortars, various grenade launchers (SPG, AGS, RPG), and small arms.
According to the Essence of Time military unit, which is a part of DPR People’s Militia, on October 6 the Ukrainian army shelled Donetsk People’s Republic as well. The Ukrainian army used mortars, infantry fighting vehicle guns, and small arms against DPR towns and villages.
The DPR and LPR territory shellings violate Minsk agreements that focus on the settlement of the conflict in Donbass, and contradict the Set of Measures for the Implementation of the Minsk Agreements, approved in 2015 by the UN Security Council.
