Multisport competition in the Republican military lyceum

A multisport competition dedicated to the Great Patriotic War veteran and Soviet Union Hero – schema-archimandrite Kirill (Pavlov) took place in G. T. Beregovoj name’s Republican boarding lyceum with enhanced physical and military training on May 27. Schema-archimandrite Kirill participated in the war against Finland, fought from Stalingrad to Romania, Austria, and Hungary, and also participated in the war against Japan. The spiritual journey of seminary student Kirill Pavlov started in 1946, and it brought him to the rank of a schema-archimandrite.

Vandals doused the Monument of Glory in Lvov with paint

The Monument of Glory in Lvov was doused with red paint, the press service of Lvov police informed on June 2.

“Today, on the 2nd of June, at 9:30 am the police was informed that unidentified people doused the Monument of Glory at the Stryiskaya street in Lvov with red paint. Police squad and lab investigation team were sent to the scene of crime,” the statement said. The investigation is underway at the scene of the crime. The initiation of a criminal case is being considered.

The Monument of Glory is devoted to the victors of the Great Patriotic War (war against Nazism – Editor). The Victory day on May 9 is traditionally celebrated at this place. In February 2014 and May 2016 members of Lvov City Council raised the question of dismantling of the monument, which is considered as soviet legacy.
