Protesters were forced to leave Kulikovo Field in Odessa
Today on May 2, residents of Odessa had been coming to the House of Trade Unions which is located at Kulikovo Field, since early morning, to honor the memory of the victims of the Odessa massacre of May 2, 2014. Three years ago, Ukrainian citizens, who did not accept the unconstitutional coup d’état in Kiev, set up a camp on Kulikovo Field in Odessa. On that day, May 2, 2014, clashes between Odessa residents and football “Ultras” from Kharkov and Odessa broke out near Greek Square. Militant groups from the „Euromaidan“ joined the “Ultras” as well. According to eyewitnesses, the radical groups arrived in the city in advance. All their actions were well organized. As a result of the clashes, the camp was completely destroyed, and the House of Trade Unions was firebombed. Those who were forcibly expelled from the camp and fled to the House of Trade Unions burned to death. As a result of the Odessa massacre, 48 people were murdered and more than 250 people were injured.
