Protesters were forced to leave Kulikovo Field in Odessa

Today on May 2, residents of Odessa had been coming to the House of Trade Unions which is located at Kulikovo Field, since early morning, to honor the memory of the victims of the Odessa massacre of May 2, 2014. Three years ago, Ukrainian citizens, who did not accept the unconstitutional coup d’état in Kiev, set up a camp on Kulikovo Field in Odessa. On that day, May 2, 2014, clashes between Odessa residents and football “Ultras” from Kharkov and Odessa broke out near Greek Square. Militant groups from the „Euromaidan“ joined the “Ultras” as well. According to eyewitnesses, the radical groups arrived in the city in advance. All their actions were well organized. As a result of the clashes, the camp was completely destroyed, and the House of Trade Unions was firebombed. Those who were forcibly expelled from the camp and fled to the House of Trade Unions burned to death. As a result of the Odessa massacre, 48 people were murdered and more than 250 people were injured.

Kiev to declare 2017 the Year of the Bandera Nazis

The bill includes a search for memorable places linked with Ukrainian revolution and with the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN, organization banned in Russia), a celebration of centennial of Ukrainian revolution and the seventy-fifth anniversary of the founding of the UIA (organization banned in Russia). The UIA (organization banned in Russia) fought against Soviet guerrillas in the Western Ukraine during the Great Patriotic War. Bandera militants killed civilians of Polish origin and other “aliens” in controlled areas. The UIA (organization banned in Russia) units went underground after the Hitlerites were driven from the territory of the USSR, and it turned to terror by killing communists and “aliens” from among locals.

Review of May Day celebrations in Ukraine

In Kherson, the police prevented a clash between left-wing rally participants and veterans of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (Kiev junta’s punitive operation in Donbass ― Editor) who celebrated the 100th anniversary of the first Ukrainian Bogdan Khmelnitsky volunteer regiment.

At a rally in Kharkov which turned into a march, anti-NATO slogans were demonstrated along with posters calling to “stop the civil war”. Among the demonstrators, there was a girl with a balloon colored in Kharkov People’s Republic colors.

As the column marched, it was joined by provokers chanting “suitcase, train station, Russia!”. When the marchers laid flowers in front of a monument, the provokers raised Ukrainian banners chanting “hang the communists!”

Ukrainian military opened fire on the DPR territory with tanks and mortars

The situation remains tense on the Yasinovataya part of the front. The Ukrainian army had been provoking combat in Avdeevka industrial zone and in the area of the village of Spartak.

In the afternoon, the Ukrainian military opened fire on the village of Trudovskiye, west of Donetsk, with mortars. A 52-years old civilian was wounded by shrapnel. In the village of Trudovskiye, a 38-years old civilian was injured by a mine. The injured civilians were taken to the hospital.

In the night, the Ukrainian military shelled the village of Oktyabr in the Novoazovsky district of the DPR. 2 houses on Kommunarov street were damaged.

Russia celebrates the 1st of May

To celebrate the 1st of May, many demonstrations, rallies, and festivities took place in the Russian Far East, the Interfax news agency reported on May 1.

Thousands of festive processions and rallies organized by trade unions, were held in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Vladivostok, Khabarovsk, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, and other cities. Over 35 thousand people gathered together to celebrate May 1st in Khabarovsk.

In Saint Petersburg, 95,000 people participated in the demonstration. 25,000 people joined the May Day procession in Sevastopol. According to Interfax News Agency, 90,000 people took part in the festive events in Moscow.
