“By slapping Russia in the face with a missile strike against Syria, the Americans have destroyed their own institutions,” said Sergey Kurginyan the “Essence of Time” movement leader on April 9, during the television program “Sunday Evening with Vladimir Solovyov” on “Russia 1” TV Channel.
Kurginyan said that the most important Anglo-Saxon institutions are being destroyed before our eyes under the jubilation of American society. The political analyst also noted that neither the Congress nor other power structures have any objection to the infringement of their own interests. They had no objection to the president’s autocratic decision-making without their consent and without any consultations. They do not ask: “Where is our share of the power? No one says that. A few hundred people are squeaking something, while newspapers, business, and ultimately politicians of all parties, (on the basis of euphoria after the strike – Rossa Primavera News Agency) have united,” Kurginyan said.
Expanding his thesis, Sergey Kurginyan said in summary that the absence of a real American response to this controversial missile strike raises the question: “What is happening to America? Where are these institutions, which were once the hallmark of Western exceptionalism?”
The US missile strike against a Syrian airfield on the night of April 7 was carried out under Trump’s direct order. It was not agreed upon with any other government institutions (first and foremost with the Congress).
