Armed Forces of Ukraine attempted a breakthrough in the area of Kalinovka township near Debaltsevo. approximately 10 militants were killed, over 20 are injured, LPR People’s Militia informed LuganskInformCenter.
“On December 18, 2016, units of 54th brigade of Ukrainian army attempted breakthrough from the direction of Luganskoye township in the direction of Kalinovka township. They started provoking aggressive actions by increasing shellings. According to reconnaissance, the commanders of the aggressor were in the state of alcoholic intoxication,” Andrei Morochko, the representative of People’s Militia, explained.
“At 13:00 positions of LPR People’s Militia came under provocative shelling. The enemy set forward a recon group, covering it by artillery fire. In an attempt to build on the progress, the enemy intensified the bombardment of our positions. Thanks to coordinated actions of LPR People’s Militia units and skilled leadership of the commanders, the enemy was stopped and repelled,” he said.
Two IFV of the enemy were destroyed. Two LPR militiamen were wounded in the course of Ukrainian attack, two went missing. Fighting continues.
