Krasny Luch residents attend “Flowers to Heroes” rally to celebrate liberation from fascists

Over 2000 residents of Krasny Luch town attended the rally “Flowers for Heroes” dedicated to the 73th Anniversary of liberation of the town and Lugansk region from German Nazi and fascists invaders, the Town Administration informed Lugansk Information Center on September 7th.

During the rally schoolchildren, representatives of work collectives, activists of the public movement “Peace to Lugansk Land”, ordinary citizens laid flowers at the monuments and memorials to Heroes and Victims of the Great Patriotic War in Krasny Luch and surrounding towns and villages.

The delegation led by the mayor, the Chair of the territorial division of “Peace to Lugansk Land” Yuri Kondratenko, attended the Coal Mine №151 “Bogdan” memorial. The veterans of war and labor, representatives of the Town Administration honored the memory of over 2000 fellow-citizens thrown into the mine shaft by the German Nazis and their accomplices.

“This Day is a symbol of victory and valor, belief in our strength. The memory of the Day of Liberation of Krasny Luch town and whole Lugansk Land from German Nazi and fascists invaders has a special place in our hearts and minds”, Kondratenko stressed.

The participants of the rally honored the memory of the dead by a citywide moment of silence: public transportation was stopped in all of Krasny Luch and the drivers sounded an uninterrupted honk.
