Today the ceasefire is, on the whole, observed. There is no information on the shelling of Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) towns and villages by the Ukrainian army.
State services of the Republic summarized the data on the combat, victims, and destruction during the past month. In August Ukrainian punitive forces fired over 15,000 shells at the front-line territories of DPR. 8 citizens were killed, another 46 were injured. 408 houses and objects of infrastructure were damaged or destroyed. The most intensive shelling was observed on the Donetsk direction, where 219 buildings were damaged.
DPR recon does not exclude that the armistice would be used to regroup the troops and to prepare the new acts of aggression as it happened already twice.
