Last Sunday “Essence of Time” discussion club in Donetsk was visited by Eliseo Bertolasi — a well-known Italian anthropologist, one of the few Western journalists who regularly visits Donbass from the very beginning of the conflict. Eliseo talked about the public sentiment in modern-day Italy, about the problem of refugees from Africa and the Middle East, about the harsh censorship in European mass media and about the crushing defeat of the European left movement, which had discredited itself with the “fight for LGBT rights”. According to him, the only alternative the occupied and dying Europe has left is to build mutually beneficial relations with Russia.
