Donetsk People’s Republic Operations Command notes the triple increase in the number of shellings of towns and villages of Donetsk People’s Republic by Ukrainian army since the beginning of August. Last night Ukrainian army fired 369 artillery shells at the frontline areas of the Republic. Krasny Partizan near Gorlovka, Yasinovataya, Donetsk airport, “Volvo-center”, Trudovskie, Aleksandrovka villages on the outskirts of Donetsk, Elenovka, Sosnovskoye, Kominternovo, Zaichenko, Dzerzhinskoye, Leninskoye and Sakhanka villages in the south of DPR came under artillery fire.
During the night Ukrainian army shelled a watchpost of the Joint Center for Ceasefire Control and Coordination (JCCC) by 122mm artillery guns. At approximately 11:30 during the day JCCC watchpost in Yasinovataya was shot at by small arms. OSCE mission representatives were at the second post when the fire was opened. JCCC members are gathering and analyzing information on the activity near the contact line. The fact that two posts of the Center came under fire during the day means that the attack was planned.
10 houses in the west of Donetsk and south of the Republic were damaged by Ukrainian shellings. Damage was registered on Bokiya, Bezlesnaya, Polukhina streets and Vyborg alley in Petrovsky district of the capital. Houses on Pobeda and Akhmatovoy street were shelled in Kominternovo. Houses on Vartazova street were damaged in Dzerzhinskoye village.
DPR recon registered the movement of five “Grad” multiple-launch rocket systems near Dzerzhinsk. Two trains with tanks, infantry fighting vehicles and self-propelled artillery guns arrived to Konstantinovka. Six self-propelled “Akatsiya” gun positions were noted in Stepnoye village of Volnovakha district. Approximately a hundred Georgian mercenaries accompanied by NATO instructors arrived to Krasnogorovka.
According to latest information, during the past 24 hours Ukrainian army fired 782 shells at the territory of the Republic, 712 of which were artillery shells.
