The Head of Donetsk People’s Republic Aleksandr Zakharchenko stated on August 5 that if Ukrainian military will try to attack Donbass, they will have to retreat up to Kiev. The statement was published on his official website.
“We don’t want war, unlike the residents of the former Ukraine, we know what war is, and we know it not from television. But if Kiev attacks us again, I can say one thing: let them don’t complain after that, when they will be retreating to Kiev,” the Head of DPR stated. According to him, the intelligence of the Republic informs about full readiness of Ukrainian military to attack.
Zakharchenko added that renewing the war in Donbass might become for President of Ukrainian Pyotr Poroshenko and his team the only way to keep power and avoid responsibility for crimes. “Everything is leading to the moment when Poroshenko, as a cornered rat, will attack Donbass. Maybe himself, maybe by somebody else’s hands. For example, by giving an order to punitive battalions to provoke the renewal of the conflict. But the result will be one – war,” the Head of DPR warned.
