For the “renewal” of Ukrainian, all Ukrainians, who were born in the Soviet Union must die, the Ukrainian media cited the statement of the Odessa poet and actor Stanislav Dombrovski made at the press conference on July 1st.
“What I saw yesterday, it was a shock when they were just plainly poisoning us with gas, beating us with clubs… I can repeat. I am sure that each person will answer for everything.” Dombrovski added that the person responsible for the beating of people is personally the mayor of Odessa. “For two months, he has never come to the people, if he would respect himself, he could come out just to talk,” the poet said. He also admitted that he burned tires near the Odessa City Hall on June 30th as well and does not see “anything illegal and deadly in this.” “The worst of all is that I meet Odessans, and they say ‘we have the tourist season, how could you set on fire the tires in the city centre?’. This is the biggest nonsense. Guys, recollect, the largest number of tourists in Kiev was on the Maidan; Kiev was filled with tourists. I’d like that Odessa would also be filled with such tourists. I’m used to a new way, if I feel fear, I follow the fear. Mind you, we just put a couple of tires, set them on fire, and they (police – Editor) broke a man’s leg for this. It was a very nice performance, it was burning for a while, now they can come and clean everything. There is nothing special in this event,” the poet summarized.
This year, in April, Stanislav Dombrovski was involved in the scandal by creating a logo of “Art Revolution against litseMeriya” (it is a wordplay and can be translated as a hypocrisy of the Odessa Mayor) performance. In the Logo, genitals were depicted in the yellow-blue background (the colors of the Ukrainian flag – Editor).
