The TV crew of the Russian NTV channel came under sniper fire near ‘Yasinovatskiy’ checkpoint at the section of Donetsk Gorlovka route on May 17th, a reporter of the TV channel at the center of the events informed Donetsk News Agency.
“After meeting with OSCE mission in Dokuchaevsk town, we arrived to the industrial zone near ‘Yasinovatskiy’ checkpoint to monitor the situation and to shoot a video about maintenance of the ceasefire. As soon as we arrived, a sniper from the Ukrainian side has opened fire on us. It is a miracle that we managed to escape,” the reporter said.
No one from the TV crew was injured. According to the Donetsk News Agency, the correspondents left the zone of sniper fire at around 8 PM on May 17th. The circumstances of this accident are being investigated.
