Azeri military destroyed an ambulance car by tank, the head of the operations branch of the Defense Army of the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Viktor Arustamyan stated on April 6, RIA Novosti reports.
“The ambulance was on the contact line to transport the bodies of the killed tank crew. Azerbaijan shelled by tank and destroyed this vehicle. Fortunately, the personnel was not inside the car at the moment of shelling, nobody got hurt,” Arustamyan said.
The conflict about Nagorny Karabakh between Azerbaijan and Armenia escalated on April 2 this year. On April 5 the leaders of the sides declared that military operations will be suspended.
The armed conflict continues since 1988, after the declared secession of Nagorny Karabakh from Azerbaijan SSR. During the military actions Azerbaijan lost control over the territory of Nagorny Karabakh. Peace negotiations are underway since 1992 in the frame of Minsk OSCE group.
