Member of DPR People's Council explains the aimed goal of Ukraine's artillery attacks on Donetsk

22.09.2022, Donetsk.

The Ukrainian army seeks to intimidate civilians and disrupt the referendum on the republic’s accession to the Russian Federation by shelling the peaceful areas of Donetsk. A member of the DPR People’s Council Vladislav Berdichevsky stated this on September 22.

“They will intensify [shelling – Rossa Primavera News Agency], because [the Kiev regime] needs to scare people as much as possible, create panic, so that people leave [the republic], to disrupt the referendum, then tell to everyone that no one went anywhere, did not vote. I call on our citizens to be as careful as possible, go out of the house only when necessary,” the deputy explained.

Earlier Ukrainian armed units shelled the area of the market in the Voroshilovsky district of Donetsk. Six people dead and six wounded were reported.

On September 19, the heads of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics decided to immediately hold referendums on joining the Russian Federation. The referendum will be held on September 23-27.

On the same days, similar referendums will be held in the liberated territories of the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions.
