11.08.2022, New York.

Ukraine’s criminal actions against the Zaporozhye NPP are pushing the world to the brink of nuclear catastrophe, Russia’s permanent representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya said on August 11.

On the night of August 6-7, the Ukrainian armed units opened fire from a Uragan multiple rocket launcher at the Zaporozhye NPP, representatives of the military and civil administration of Energodar reported.

The radiation monitoring post and the spent nuclear fuel storage facility were in the target area. In addition, fragments and a rocket engine fell 400 meters from the operating power unit.

On August 11, a few hours before the UN Security Council meeting, the Ukrainian armed units again struck the area of the nuclear power plant – this time shells fell near the nuclear waste storage facility.
