Kurginyan names obstacles to Russia's well-being

Existence between a Russia-hating Europe and a growing China prevents the country from becoming a prosperous consumer state, political scientist and leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan said on July 3 in a new issue of his The Meaning of the Game program.

“Where will your prosperity unfold? Somewhere between Europe that hates you and a growing China, in relations with which you must be a little brother? Where do you want to achieve it?” Kurginyan explained.

According to him, there is a hypothetical option of leaving Russia, “Or do you want to gain more here and leave? Where to? This dying Europe? Where?”

Kurginyan noted that Russia is “a monstrously dysfunctional country,” but “it’s still alive,” while Europe is not – “everything there is already dead.”

And it follows that the dead will fall prey to predators, because they are alive.

“And they are already visible,” Kurginyan stressed. He added that tensions are rising, and the availability of nuclear weapons prevents the situation from collapsing quickly, “and it is good that it is there and something has been done.”

Kurginyan believes that under Putin “everything was not developing so catastrophically anymore,” but warned against enthusiastic assessments of the situation in the country.

“They talk about the Cold War. Well, the Soviet Union was a superpower: it had the second largest economy in the world and, as I believe, the best armed forces, a corresponding population and everything else,” said the political scientist. According to Sergey Kurginyan, the current position of the Russian Federation is much less stable.
