The new Soviet Union must have more spiritual strength and less inner vegetating , political scientist and the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan said on May 9 in his video address “How can we revive the spirit of our Great Victory? Congratulation for the like-minded.”
“As for me, I believe that we cannot do the same thing twice. If what we used to have ended up breaking down, this means it contained some serious defects. Not just economic defects like market vs. plan, etc.,” Kurginyan said.
Explaining the reasons why the USSR disintegrated, he quoted Hamlet’s words:
This is the imposthume of much wealth and peace,
That inward breaks, and shows no cause without
Why the man dies.
According to Kurginyan, in the Soviet Union, “the imposthume of much wealth and peace” broke after the Brezhnev period. “And we are still discussing ‘why the man dies,’” he noted.
“Therefore, we cannot return directly to that time, but no one says we must return directly there, except for very narrow-minded people,” Kurginyan stressed.
“Therefore, this is not about a direct return, but a certain improvement of the existence we used to have in order to achieve a greater spiritual strength, greater inspiration and happiness with less inner vegetating of a quasi-stagnation type,” the political scientist explained.
According to Kurginyan, we should make something like what we had, which must still be absolutely different at the same time. “Why, indeed, can people not dream about this?” Kurginyan asked the audience.
