Kurginyan: Competent experts are ignored on purpose

11.08.2020, Moscow.

Ignoring opinions of leading experts in aspects of the coronavirus epidemic looks strange, and it suggests many things, the leader of the Essence of Time, analyst and political scientist Sergey Kurginyan said on August 10 in his author’s broadcast “The Meaning of the Game.”

Officials have already admitted that they planned restrictive measures based on erroneous predictions concerning the COVID-19 pandemic’s progress. Kurginyan notes that politicians avoid mentioning the authors of these predictions, and he asks, “Who will tell the truth? And who is ready to hear it? Posing the same question differently, why is no one trusted?”

In particular, no one even wants to listen to the opinion of Igor Nikulin, a former member of the UN commission for biological weapons and advisor to UN Secretary General Kofi Annan. Meanwhile, in an interview to the Rossa Primavera News Agency Nikulin made a number of very important statements.

For example, according to Nikulin, “it is clear to a majority of experts in the world that the coronavirus has a laboratory origin.” This is supported by the fact that “7 variants of the same virus could not have appeared themselves in different parts of the globe at the same time, and there is no natural focus.” The biological weapons expert added that the spreading of the virus “was apparently artificial.”

Answering the correspondent’s question about mistakes Russia made in its fight against the coronavirus epidemic, the former UN Secretary General’s advisor said that the only mistake was the optimization of the healthcare system over the last ten years.

Nikulin noted that special infectious isolation beds, the number of which was reduced during the post-Soviet healthcare reform, became urgently needed at the beginning of the epidemic, and they were not “simply beds.” “These were isolated rooms, 140 thousand isolated rooms with a separate entrance. An infectious disease room is a special room with one bed, a separate entrance, a gate, and a ventilation system,” the expert explained.

According to Nikulin, “in Moscow there are a dozen of closed [infectious disease] hospitals, which can be put in operation any moment.” Instead, however, the government, which was responsible for their “optimization,” is creating so-called coronavirus hospitals in stadiums, business centers, and expo centers, he added.

The former member of the UN biological weapons commission stressed that “in terms of conventional epidemiology and virology, this is fundamentally wrong,” because “patients will become infected from each other” in these environments.

Thus, Kurginyan notes, we have to conclude not only that Neil Ferguson and Imperial College London gave a grossly overestimated prediction of mortality, but also that we increased the number of victims ourselves by interfering with the operation of our healthcare system as well as by incorrectly organizing COVID-19 management in particular.
