22.09.2019, Moscow.

Russian miliatry’s revival began with the awareness of its poor condition in 1999, said Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu in an interview with Moskovsky Komsomolets on September 22.

It all began with the awareness of its poor condition in 1999, after Basayev and Khattab’s  gangs invaded the Tsumadinsky and Botlikhsky districts of Dagestan“, said Shoigu, answering the question about when the Russian army began to revive.

He also said that at that moment, Vladimir Putin, who was then the prime minister began to make crucial decisions to reform our armed forces, despite limited resources.

At the same time, Sergey Shoigu noted that the revival of the Russian military was not immediate.

As previously reported, the head of the Russian defense ministry, Sergey Shoigu, said that at some point the Ukrainian extremists would have to be stopped, and he expressed regret that this had not been done before.
