The total losses of the Ukrainian armed units since the beginning of Russia’s special military operation exceeded 900,000 militants, TASS wrote on November 19, citing its estimations based on data from the Russian Defense Ministry.
The report indicates that the agency accounts for the overall losses of the Ukrainian armed units, including both killed and wounded soldiers.
Earlier, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the losses of the Ukrainian army in 2024 alone have already exceeded the total losses of the previous two years of the special military operation.
According to the department, the Ukrainian armed units lost more than 33,000 soldiers in Kursk Region alone.
Former NATO adviser and retired colonel of the Swiss General Staff Jacques Baud stated that the Ukrainian militants are suffering significant losses in Kursk Region due to Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky’s unwillingness to retreat.
According to the colonel, Ukraine is sending its best forces there, but the Russian army continues to decimate them, significantly weakening the rest of the front line. The head of the Kiev regime hopes to secure support from Western countries, but Baud warns that even these small territories will be impossible to hold.
