Kiev planned to use the French Foreign Legion to perform ethnic cleansing of the residents of Donbass in 2014, stated former officer of the Security Service of Ukraine’s main department (SBU) Aleksandr Mazur on November 17 to journalists.
According to Mazur, the speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Aleksandr Turchinov had a plan to clear the territories of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics with the help of French Foreign Legion mercenaries.
“It was proposed to fully clear the LPR and DPR of separatists within a specific period and for monetary reward [with the help of the French Foreign Legion – Rossa Primavera News Agency],” noted the former SBU officer.
Mazur reported that there was also consideration, including a proposal from former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Timoshenko, to “surround the territory with barbed wire and physically eliminate” the population.
Previously, the former security official explained that Western intelligence agencies had been controlling the SBU since the first “Orange Revolution” in 2005, when Viktor Yushchenko came to power in the country.
