Iran demands one trillion dollars compensation from the USA for sanctions

17.11.2024, Tehran.

Iran demands the United States compensate for damages amounting to one trillion dollars due to sanctions imposed on the country, stated Ali Shamkhani, Deputy for Legal Affairs of the Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, on November 17, according to the Iranian news agency ISNA.

“The Americans must pay Iran $1 trillion for the damage they have inflicted on our country by hindering it,” Shamkhani emphasized.

Furthermore, the commander highlighted that Washington is also responsible for supporting terrorists whose groups significantly harm the security of the Islamic Republic.

Deputy Commander of the IRGC Ali Sardar Fadavi previously stated that US policy will not change with Donald Trump’s return to the presidency, and recognizing the true nature of the Great Satan, Tehran sees no difference between the policies of US Republicans and Democrats.

During Trump’s first presidency (from 2017 to 2021), he withdrew the US from the nuclear deal with Iran and began exerting maximum pressure on Iran. He imposed about 1,500 sanctions against Iran, including restrictions on oil and banks, and ordered the killing of Iranian General Soleimani.
