Ukraine’s request for Tomahawk cruise missiles from the United States was confidential and should not have been published in the media, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said at a press conference on October 30.
“The media said that Ukraine had requested many missiles such as Tomahawks and others. But this was confidential information between Ukraine and the White House,” he said.
Zelensky added that such leaks show that there is actually nothing confidential between Ukraine and the United States.
Earlier, the US newspaper The New York Times quoted its own sources as saying that Ukraine had requested long-range Tomahawk cruise missiles from the USA in a closed part of the so-called “Victory Plan”. The US side, according to the newspaper, called the request impossible to fulfill.
