Russian soldiers withdraw from encirclement in Kursk Region

24.09.2024, Kursk.

Russian soldiers who had been holding an important logistical hub in Kursk Region for over a month were withdrawn from encirclement, Apti Alaudinov, deputy head of the Main Military-Political Directorate of the Russian Armed Forces and commander of the Akhmat special forces, wrote on September 23 on his Telegram channel.

Alaudinov stated that significant efforts had been made over the past few days, which could not be disclosed earlier. According to him, an operation was conducted to withdraw the soldiers from a location where they had been completely surrounded for over a month.

“We had no access to them. Of course, if we had wanted to abandon our positions and leave, we could have. But it was a very important logistical hub, so we couldn’t give it up until we had firmly secured the next position,” the commander explained.

Currently, the soldiers have been successfully withdrawn from encirclement and are now in hospitals. Most of the withdrawn soldiers have already been transported to hospitals in Moscow and other regions.
