Iran ready to help victims of mass pager explosions in Lebanon

Iran is ready to assist in the treatment of victims of the mass pager explosions in Lebanon, the Iranian Foreign Ministry’s press service wrote on September 17 on the agency’s Telegram channel.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said this during a telephone conversation with Lebanese Foreign Minister Abdallah Bou Habib.

“The foreign minister expressed his condolences and solidarity with the government, the people and the families of those killed and injured in the incident and expressed readiness to provide any assistance to treat the injured or bring them to Tehran,” the statement reads.

Earlier, in simultaneous explosions of pagers used by the Lebanese group Hezbollah occurred in Lebanon.

The head of the Lebanese Ministry of Health, Firas Abiad, said that the detonation of devices affected more than 2.8 thousand people, of whom 8 people were killed.

Hezbollah promised a ‘just response’ to Israel. According to representatives of the movement, Israel is responsible for the detonation of the pagers in Lebanon.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanani said what happened is a massacre arranged by the Israeli regime.
