Mali’s President accuses Ukraine of supporting terrorism in Africa

Ukraine took the side of terrorists in the Sahel, Malian President Assimi Goïta said, the Abamako com news portal wrote on September 16.

According to the leader of the state, Mali continues to combat all forms of terrorism, defending the integrity of its territories and sovereignty.

Goïta noted that at the same time, terrorists receive support from third countries. He mentioned Ukraine as one of the accomplices of terrorism in the region.

Ukraine, he said, has “openly decided to side with terrorism in the Sahel.”

Andrey Yusov, the official representative of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry’s Main Directorate of Intelligence, said that the agency provided assistance to the terrorist operation in Mali. The Ukrainian ambassador to Senegal Yuriy Pivovarov was also accused of supporting the terrorists’ actions in Mali.

A representative of one of the separatist movements operating on the territory of Mali also confirmed the fact of the Kiev regime’s cooperation with terrorists.

On August 4, 2024 the Republic of Mali announced the severance of diplomatic relations with Ukraine.
