Russian soldiers destroy three HIMARS MLRS near Sumy

Russian soldiers destroyed three HIMARS MLRS systems of the Ukrainian armed units in Sumy Region, the press service of the Russian Defense Ministry said on September 2.

Reconnaissance activities allowed to identify the enemy MLRS near the villages of Osoyevka and Glybnoye, 20 kilometers southeast of Sumy.

“After confirmation of the target characteristics, the command decided to launch strikes with high-precision missile weapons against the positions of multiple rocket launchers,” the statement read.

During the strike, in addition to the HIMARS systems, three vehicles, a transport-loading vehicle and more than 30 Ukrainian militants were destroyed.

Russian forces, which have been driving out Ukrainian armed units from border areas in Kursk Region, are also striking Ukrainian militants in the neighboring Sumy Region. On September 1, the Defense Ministry reported that the Ukrainian armed units had lost four HIMARS systems since the beginning of fighting in the Kursk direction.

In addition, the Ukrainian armed units have lost 8,500 troops, 80 tanks, and other weapons in the region.
