Tornado-S MLRS unit destroys an Ukrainian convoy in the Kursk Region

A convoy of Ukrainian armored vehicles was destroyed in the Kursk region by the Russian Armed Forces’ Tornado-S multiple rocket launcher system (MLRS), the press service of the Russian Defense Ministry reported on August 11.

The location of a column of Ukrainian armed units armored vehicles in the Kursk region was identified by the operator of a Russian reconnaissance drone. After that, a Tornado-S MLRS was fired at it, the ministry said.

As a result, 5 Ukrainian armored vehicles and up to 20 personnel were destroyed,” the report said.

On August 7, Valery Gerasimov, head of the Russian Armed Forces General Staff, informed that on the morning of August 6 (at 5:30), Ukrainian troops with a total strength of up to 1,000 men launched an offensive on the border areas of the Kursk region in order to seize territory there.

Their advance has been stopped, the enemy will be defeated and the operation will be completed by reaching the Russian state border, the General Staff chief said.

A federal emergency regime has been introduced in the Kursk region. On August 9, a counter-terrorist operation mode (CTO) was declared in this region, as well as in Belgorod and Bryansk regions. The population is being evacuated from border areas.

The Russian Armed Forces are striking at Ukrainian troop concentrations near border settlements. Reserves and heavy military equipment have been brought to the region. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, Ukrainian losses since the beginning of the Ukrainian attack amounted to 1,120 personnel and 140 pieces of equipment.
