Six police officers were killed in terrorist attacks in Derbent and Makhachkala (North Caucasus, Russia – translator’s note), Interfax reported on June 23.
Citing a source in the law enforcement agencies, it is reported that six police officers were killed and 23 others were wounded in the terrorist attacks.
For its part, the press service of the Dagestan Interior Ministry confirmed the deaths of six police officers. The number of wounded is estimated at 12 people.
In the Republic of Dagestan declared a counter-terrorist operation regime.
Note that on Sunday evening unknown persons attacked a synagogue and an Orthodox church in Derbent and killed a priest. The death of a policeman was also reported. Later in Makhachkala, an attack was carried out on a traffic police post. A fight broke out between the police and the terrorists.
