Members of the military wing of the Palestinian Hamas movement launched a rocket attack on Tel Aviv, they claimed on their Telegram channel on January 29.
The attack was carried out by Izz ad-Din al-Qassam battalions (brigades). The statement reads, “Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades launched a rocket attack on Tel Aviv in response to the enemy’s aggression against civilians.”
The situation in the Middle East rapidly radicalized as a result of a major force incident on October 7, 2023, when Hamas supporters attacked Israel from the territory of the Gaza Strip. More than 240 hostages were seized.
The Palestinian side claims the attack was in response to Israel’s hostile actions against the Muslim holy Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem.
