The current geopolitical situation is different from any other known situations, the leader of the Essence of Time movement, political scientist and philosopher Sergey Kurginyan said on January 8 on the program ObyektivNO on the Belarusian ONT channel.
The political scientist reminded that in the period when Ronald Reagan was US president, the oil price was successfully lowered to $6 per barrel. However, the oil price is not the only novelty of the situation, it is also characterized by the lack of unity of the world against Russia as well as other parameters.
“An absolutely different, extremely more complicated geopolitical situation has formed. It is fantastically different from anything that was described! Could you imagine such close relations between North Korea and the Russian Federation or even between Iran and the Russian Federation ten years ago?” Kurginyan rhetorically asked.
He also noted that any hopes for an existence of Man based on solely reason and pragmatism, without any high objectives and strategic meanings, have failed. The final end of any hopes for quiet consumerist existence, which the philosopher compares with the peace of a graveyard, came with the escalation of the conflict between Israel and HAMAS.
“It is not only the pot in Ukraine, which our enemies call – I know that – the Russian pot and the heating up of which they discuss. Another pot, the Middle East one, has also emerged. In fact, we have witnessed how another promising pot, the Transcaucasian one, gradually begins to boil,” Kurginyan described the new geopolitical situation, and he added that we can further expect that the situation in Far East will also heat up.
At the show, Kurginyan also described the key myths that have been busted since the beginning of the Special Military Operation in Ukraine.
