Russia has thrown down the gauntlet to the US-imposed world order, thereby provoking the wild fury of the collective West. But Russians do not fully understand the deep reasons for such a hatred, its strength and nature, said political scientist, philosopher, the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan on December 14 in Conversation with a Sage program on the Zvezda radio.
Kurginyan is certain that to the Russians – their main mission is in defining a purpose for humanity. This mission is directly opposite to what the West is doing, which has put an end to humanism and is pushing humanity into the era of “the beast and the machines.” At the same time, for the West, Russians are “one of their own, but different,” the analyst says.
“They are our own, as Christians, yet different, as Orthodox. They are our own (in relation to Marxism, the struggle against alienation as a consequence of exclusion, and so on – a Western idea), but different, they are not bourgeois. All the time – ‘ours, but different,’ and, in the West, it causes so much anger at a metaphysical level,” says Kurginyan, emphasizing that others, who are “different”, such as Confucian China, or India – are not hated as fundamentally and frantically as Russians.
According to Kurginyan, the West hates Russia because these “our own, but different” cannot accept the Western type of intellectualism, according to which there is an irrational emotion and a rational mind. Russians are a thoughtful feeling. This is what Fyodor Tyutchev, 19th century Russian poet and a diplomate, expressed as “you will not grasp her with your mind, or cover with a common label, for Russia is one of a kind – believe in her, if your are able.”
“Russians are an emotional thought, a combination of emotion and reason, this is a property of their language, this is a property of their mentality, it cannot be canceled! It carries global significance because this diagonal, by the way, which constantly creates a conflict between Russians and Jews (Russians are an intelligent feeling, and Jews are an emotional thought), is not the matrix, it is not Western,” the analyst affirms.
Russians are distinguished by an inescapable and indomitable will to integrity, emphasizes Kurginyan. According to him, Russia has passed by the certain era when existence was divided into: “aesthetic, epistemological and ethical” – or, beautiful, true and fair – in other words.
“This division, which occurred in the 5th century, in Greek antiquity, was not received in Russia. Essentially, Russia did not accept it. This is because Russians have always believed that God is intelligent, beautiful and fair at the same time, and it is impossible to divide all this into three parts. Just like the liberation of this material world from the presence of God. The world cannot be forsaken by God for a Russian, the birch grove is permeated with light – that’s all!” says Kurginyan.
The West hates Russians precisely because these “our own, but different” carry with them the idea of human ascent – humanism as the basis of human existence. Russia is hated because it gives the whole world hope that man will not be turned into either a beast or a machine, the analyst is certain.
“The West constantly has this feeling that it is impossible to completely turn Christian civilization into the anti-Christian because ‘these Russians’ are getting in the way. And in the end, it really is impossible to move this forward along the lines of rationalization that is synonymous with death. The Russians don’t let you turn a man into a machine, they don’t let you rid a man of his soul,” says Kurginyan.
