The Bolsheviks adopted insane models for their time, and they won, the leader of the Essence of Time movement, political scientist and philosopher Sergey Kurginyan said on November 24 at the 18th Russian Congress “Health as the Basis of Human Potential: Problems and Solutions.”
The leader of Essence of Time stressed that Lenin and the Bolsheviks managed to save the country and to move it along the path of scientific and technical progress. In particular, he reminded, that Lenin in 1818, when his power was vulnerable as never before, and when he could die himself, sent the last remaining military units and materials to the construction of the Volkhov Power Plant. And as soon the the Civil War ended, he initiated the electrification of the country.
“Those were people who dreamed about technical progress. They were crazy for technical progress. Lenin, Krasin, Krzyżanowski, Stalin, all in one team. This is why they could do something. They passionately wanted it,” the political scientist explained.
However, Sergey Kurginyan noted, the most of what Stalin did was proposed back in the imperial period by the Chief of General Artillery Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Imperial Army Aleksey Manikovsky. But it was rejected then.
“He spoke about the need to adopt those revolutionary models, to catch up, and he offered a detailed description of all that. But when he came to the Tsar with it the Tsar said, ‘This man is insane, he is an idiot. What does he mean? How can that be?’” the political scientist explained. He stressed that it was the Bolsheviks that dared to adopt Manikovsky’s models, with certain corrections.
Kurginyan noted that the Bolsheviks understood the situation in a sensitive way. They knew that Russia would either become extremely strong or it would be destroyed. In particular, Stalin wrote, “We have to cover the path of the European countries in 10 years, otherwise we will be smashed.”
The political scientist added that in Russia today they believe that no one will destroy it if it becomes like the other countries, if it becomes “normal” and joins the family of the European countries.
“This was said, and what now? Over that entire period they said, ‘We will buy everything. All we need is to sell good energy resources, and we will buy everything.’ So, how is it going? Have you bought it?” Kurginyan asked.
He stressed that, more importantly, Russia cannot live if it becomes “normal” and like the other countries.
