It’s too early to talk about a rightward turn in Germany, but that’s only for now. Opinion

The explosive rise in popularity of the right-wing Alternative for Germany (AfD) party is still more of a protest nature, so it is too early to talk about a rightward turn in Germany, according to a summary from the theater of war published in The Essence of Time newspaper, no. 542.

The sociological institute INSA conducted a survey on the attitude of German citizens to the right-populist party AfD. Its results showed that the party’s rating has been rising sharply in recent months.

According to INSA, many people aged 30-39, as well as students and university graduates, have emerged among the potential voters of the AfD. The AfD has minor support in the under-60 age group, i.e. the post-war generation.

“The explosive growth of the AfD’s popularity, both in the affluent segment and among young people, is still more of a protest nature. It is still too early to talk about a rightward turn, but it is only the beginning,” The Essence of Time editorial reads.
