Russian Foreign Intelligence Service: Missile strikes on Russian Federation will not go unpunished

20.11.2024, Moscow.

Ukraine’s strikes on facilities deep inside Russia with weapons from Western countries will not go unpunished, Director of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service Sergey (SVR) Naryshkin said in an interview published by the National Defense magazine on November 20.

In one of the questions, Naryshkin was asked about the reaction of Western countries to changes in Russia’s nuclear doctrine.

In his response, he pointed in particular at the Russian President’s determination to firmly defend the country’s fundamental interests by all available means.

Attempts by certain NATO allies to participate in providing possible long-range strikes with Western weapons deep into Russian territory will not go unpunished,” the SVR head emphasized.

On November 19, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the Ukraine struck six ATACMS missiles at night in the Bryansk region. The air defense forces of the Russian army repelled the attack, shooting down five and damaging one missile.
