Ukraine is of interest to the United States only as a tool to inflict a “strategic defeat” on Russia, said Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the Russian president, on November 17, according to the Telegram channel of television journalist Pavel Zarubin.
Peskov noted that US efforts are currently not focused on Ukraine but on Russia. For the USA, Kiev is merely an instrument for combating Moscow.
“We are the object [of US efforts], which they are trying to contain and to whom they have announced they intend to inflict a strategic defeat,” stated the press secretary of the Russian leader.
