Russia will help Cuba by providing 80 thousand tons of diesel fuel

Russia is ready to transfer 80 thousand tons of diesel fuel worth $60 million to Cuba free of charge in connection with the situation in the energy sector, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko said at a meeting with Deputy Chairman of the Cuban Council of Ministers Ricardo Cabrisas on November 8.

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko voiced President Vladimir Putin’s instruction on Russia’s readiness to provide brotherly Cuba with emergency assistance in connection with the critical situation in the energy sector. This assistance will include the supply of diesel fuel for the amount approved in accordance with the President’s instruction, 60 million dollars, which will amount to about 80 thousand tons of fuel.

The working visit to Cuba by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko began on November 8.

Within the framework of the visit Chernyshenko will hold talks with Deputy Prime Minister of Cuba Ricardo Cabrisas, as well as scheduled visits to the prayer service in the Church of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God in Havana and the Russian language school.
