The unfolding international struggle over the formation of a new world order is not merely a fight for power but a clash of principles of future world order, stated Russian President Vladimir Putin on November 7 at the meeting of the international discussion club Valdai in Sochi.
“There is a serious, uncompromising struggle for creating a new [world order]. Uncompromising primarily because this is not even a struggle for power or geopolitical influence. It is a clash of the very principles on which the relationships between countries and peoples will be built in the next historical stage,” the Russian leader said.
The meeting of the international discussion club Valdai takes place from November 4 to 7 in Sochi. The club brings together leading foreign and Russian experts in the fields of political science, economics, history, and international relations.
