Western sanctions cannot halt the growth of Russian-Chinese trade and investment, said Sun Tianshu, co-organizer of the 2nd Russian-Chinese Forum on Investment Development and Trade Cooperation and founder of the Qifa B2B digital trade platform, RIA Novosti wrote on October 27.
Sun Tianshu acknowledged that while sanctions have an impact on trade and investment between Russia and China, they will not significantly affect the long-term strategic relationship between the two countries.
“In terms of the long-term strategic and comprehensive partnership between China and Russia, along with the vast market potential of our countries, these are the key factors for doing business. I believe sanctions are a temporary factor that cannot fundamentally impede the development of trade and investment between Russia and China,” stated Sun Tianshu.
He emphasized that “sanctions are merely technical challenges and difficulties that can be overcome, with appropriate solutions available for business.”
The 2nd Russian-Chinese Forum on Investment Development and Trade Cooperation was held in Shenyang from October 24 to 26. The forum included representatives from 19 Russian regions, 10 trade associations, 108 enterprises, and over 2,000 Chinese organizations from various provinces and Hong Kong.
