India is one of Germany’s most important partners in the world, Berlin is going to refocus on it, German Vice Chancellor and Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action Robert Habeck said at the 18th Asia-Pacific German Business Conference on October 25.
He said Germany is currently in a difficult situation and needs to rebuild and rethink its economic success story.
“Diversifying our trade policy, finding new partners, deepening our partnerships – these are the actions that matter politically and economically for Germany right now,” Habeck emphasized.
He said that in the context of growing skepticism and geopolitical tensions, it is important for Germany to diversify trade relations.
In this process, Berlin sees an important role for New Delhi.
“India is one of the most important partners in the region and the world,” the minister emphasized.
He said that the EU and India cannot fail to have a free trade agreement.
