Russian President Vladimir Putin promised a response from Moscow to any step by Kiev towards developing nuclear weapons during a meeting with leaders of the main media outlets from BRICS member countries on October 18, as reported by RIA Novosti.

He emphasized that creating nuclear weapons is not difficult in today’s world, even for Ukraine. “This is a dangerous provocation because, undoubtedly, any step in this direction will meet with an appropriate reaction,” Putin stated.

The president reminded that the authorities of the Kiev regime have repeatedly expressed a desire to regain nuclear weapons. “I can immediately say that Russia will not allow this under any circumstances,” Putin stressed.

Earlier, the head of the Kiev regime Vladimir Zelensky told Trump that Kiev could either join NATO or acquire nuclear weapons. This statement was met with sharp criticism, including from Western politicians.
