About 100 requests have been received from residents of Western countries wishing to settle in Russian region of Nizhny Novgorod, the Nizhny Novgorod news agency reported on October 16.
47% of the requests came from residents of Germany, 30% from other European countries, the United States and Canada.
“It is necessary to help foreigners to integrate into the Nizhny Novgorod community. No one does it as systematically as we do,” noted Jakob Pinnecker, head of the OKA recruiting agency in Nizhny Novgorod.
Europeans seek Russia because they do not see prospects for themselves and their children in their own countries.
According to Pinnaker, the Russian region of Nizhny Novgorod creates “excellent conditions” for adaptation and is interested in highly qualified personnel.
